UTLÄNDSK
Esti returns to Oiartzun after spending six years living in Sweden. Even though she had promised herself not to come back, economic instability and job insecurity forces her to return. She realizes that the town remains unchanged, and Esti is unwilling to adapt.

Barakaldo, 1996. She studied Film Directing at the ECPV (Bilbao), ESCAC (Barcelona) and the UDD (Chile). In 2022, she wrote and directed her debut feature film, ‘Non grata’, and her second short film, ‘Utlándsk’, was included in the Kimuak 2024 catalogue. Combined, the two films have garnered over 150 selections and 30 awards at national and international festivals.
She has directed and written the series ‘Aloka(H)iru’ alongside Nitya López, supported by EITB through the “Formatu Txikiak, Talentu Berriak” initiative. She is currently in the pre-production phase of her first feature film, ‘Rafaela’, and is writing the feature film ‘Utländsk’, which has been selected for the Noka, Etxe Betea and ApikaLab film labs.
